Camping Check in time: any time after 2 pm

All guests are required to stop at the office upon arrival to pick up their parking pass. Waivers should be signed digitally ahead of time to speed up the check-in process. When the office is closed, please use the self-registration kiosk to complete your paperwork.

Check out time: 12 noon

To avoid additional charges, all trash must be removed from the campsite and fire pit, and fires must be completely extinguished and cold to the touch. Trash and recycling dumpsters are available on-site. There is no need to stop by the office to check-out.

Quiet hours: 10 pm to 8 am

During this time, we do not permit campers to run generators, play loud music, or in any way disturb other visitors. We ask that you respect your neighbors so everyone may enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.


Campground Nightly rates for Standard 90-day bookings

*Colorado and Jefferson County Sales Tax of 4.5% will be added to the prices listed above. Guests with tax-exempt status will need to provide documentation and book over the phone to have sales tax waived.

*Please be sure to book enough campsites to accommodate all people and vehicles in your party. Additional people beyond the site limit will not be permitted to camp at the lake unless an additional site is available and booked and additional guests relocate. We strongly support carpooling. Extra vehicles will be charged $10 per night for an overflow pass and are required to park in the Brookie Lot, not on the campsite.

Guests who would like to book more than two sites (whether standard or group sites) for the same dates must either book a private event area or have more than one group coordinator to complete the additional bookings. Guests will require more than one coordinator if desiring to book more than two standard sites, for any night.

Campsites can be reserved on the online booking platform up to 3 months in advance of your desired check-in date with no additional booking fees. If you are within 3-months of your check-in date, click here to be directed to the online booking platform now. Please note that if your check in date is within 3-months, but your additional dates fall outside of the 3-months then the Advanced Booking fees will apply to all dates outside of the 3-month window. The 3-month window is exactly 3 months not 90 days.

Guests may reserve more than 3-months in advance of their desired check-in date by paying an additional Advanced Booking fee in addition to the campsite nightly rates. CamPING Cancellation Policy for 3 Month bookings

  • For Standard Bookings (non-advanced bookings) if a reservation is cancelled 14 days or more prior to the arrival date, a refund will be issued, minus a $25 cancellation fee for each regular site and a $75 cancellation fee for each group site cancelled. If a reservation is cancelled 14 days or less prior to the arrival date, the entire amount of the reservation will be non-refundable. We do not offer “partial cancellations,” wherein only selected nights are cancelled from a reservation.

  • *Advanced Bookings have a different cancellation policy, please see below for Advanced Booking Cancelation policy.

Camping cancellation policy for Advanced Bookings (3-months or more to arrival date)

  • Guests may reserve MORE than 3 months in advance of their desired check-in date by paying an additional Advanced Booking fee in addition to the campsite nightly rates. The additional fee is 75% of the nightly rate for both standard sites and group sites. Please see table below for full details on nightly rates and Advanced Booking fees.

  • If a request for cancellation of an Advanced Booking is received 14 days or more prior to the check-in date, the campsite nightly rates and sales tax will be refunded. The 75% Advanced Booking fees and associated taxes will not be refunded. Advanced Booking Fees are non-refundable.

  • If a request for cancellation for an Advanced Booking is received 14 days or fewer prior to the check-in date, no refund will be issued.

Travel Protection Booking Cancelation policy

  • Travel Protection Cancelations 14 days or less prior to the arrival date can be canceled here. Only guests who purchased this at checkout will be eligible. Please Click Here for Travel Protection Cancelations.

  • Wellington Lake does not refund Travel Protection booking fees. These fees are non-refundable once purchased.

  • Any retail items/rentals added to a Travel Protection booking reservation will be added to the Travel Protection booking fee. All items are included in the Travel Protection money back guarantee.

DAY USE CANCELLATION POLIcy

*There are no Refunds or Credits for Day Use Fees.

Rental Equipment Cancellation policy

  • If a cancellation is requested 15 days or more prior to the scheduled rental date, the guest will be refunded less a fee of $15 per kayak/board and $75/dock rental. If a cancellation is requested 14 days or fewer prior to the scheduled rental date, a refund will not be issued.

  • In the event of extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions, as determined by Wellington Lake, guests may be provided the option to forfeit their reservation with the option to reschedule, based on availability. Refunds will not be issued for inclement weather.

  • Any retail items/rentals added to a Travel Protection booking reservation will be added to the Travel Protection booking fee. All items are included in the Travel Protection money back guarantee.

*Wellington Lake cannot make exceptions to the cancellation policy for issues such as adverse weather conditions or regional campfire bans. Nor can Wellington Lake issue “partial cancellations” wherein only selected nights of a campsite reservation are cancelled.

A $15 change fee is charged for any change in dates on a current reservation. If nightly rates change guest must pay difference in nightly rates. Refunds are NOT issued for change in nightly rates.

This document details our regulations and explains that fines may be imposed for rule violations. To protect the natural resources and our guests, we patrol the property frequently and will not hesitate to fine those found not to comply. Please respect our rules so that all visitors, as well as future generations, may enjoy this spectacular place.


how to reserve camping:

Sites can be reserved on the online reservation platform as early as 90 days in advance of the check-in date at midnight MST. Sites book up very quickly for summer weekends.
