Lake Conditions: The lake is Open year-round. Campers, Day Users, and Anglers are Welcome! All Guests must sign a liability waiver and pick up a parking pass upon arrival on the property. Day Use is open from Sun-up to Sun-down you must register prior to 4:00 pm of your arrival date.

Attention Campers!

The well on Site #57 is currently CLOSED. Please bring plenty of drinking water with you.

Campsites #22-75 are closed for Cross Country ski track and site restoration. Sites #1-21 are open.

****Wellington suffered significant tree damage in the past several Stormfronts. (WATERFALL TRAILHEAD, AND MAIN CAAMPGROUND ROAD FROM SITES #22 WILL BE CLOSED TO GUESTS DUE TO DOWNED TREES AND WIND DAMAGE.) Please be advised of road and tree damage in the area.

Ice Conditions : All Fishermen must sign a liability waiver upon arrival on the property. Fishermen are responsible for their own safety. *Measurements are taken weekly at measuring check points and are only an estimate of thickness. Anyone who risks walking on the ice must take their own measurements as conditions change daily. The lake is currently 0% frozen, Due to warm temperatures ice is off; No Measurements Taken.

Campfires are NOT allowed at Wellington under current conditions.

β€’ Jefferson County:Stage 1 Fire Ban in place as of March 8, 2026.

β€’ Park County: No fire ban in effect

Because Wellington sits on the border of both counties, Wellington Facility Managers are enforcing a STAGE 1 FIRE BAN. Fires are in metal fire rings only! Please use extreme caution.

β€’ Bring PROPANE alternatives as conditions change quickly.

🚩 Red Flag Warnings

Due to high winds typical this time of year, Facility Managers may issue a Red Flag Warning AT ANY TIME.

If this occurs, all open flames will be prohibited immediately.

*The most reliable, year-round access to the lake is via County Road 68 from Bailey, CO.

Campground Reservations:

Campsites may be reserved through online booking as early as 3 months in advance of your check-in date at midnight.

*Guests may book earlier than 3 months via the Advanced Booking process. Please note that if your check in date is within 3 months but your additional dates fall outside of the 3 months, the Advanced Booking fees will apply to all dates outside of the 3-month window.

**Advanced Bookings opened online on Jan 2nd 2026 at 8am.

Campsites book up quickly and early, so we highly recommend the advanced booking option.
